Awards and Decorations: 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star & Atlantic Clasp, Canadian Service Medal & Clasp, War Medal 1939-45, United Nations Service Medal, Silver Jubilee, Korean War Medal, Canadian Forces Decoration & Clasp. 

 

Vernon took his trades training at HMCS Naden (CFB Esquimalt).
