HILL, David (Bunker) - passed away while enjoying his travels visiting family and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Lorraine. Survived by sons, George and David (Jody); grandchildren, Courtney and David; special friend, Sandra Kemp, and many relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held later. Date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Sports figure dies (from an unknown newspaper)

Dave (Bunker) Hill, a former defenceman with Victoria Navy teams who late became a prominent hockey referee, died while vacationing in Eastern Canada. Word of his death was relayed to Victoria at the weekend.

Hill, in his mid-60s, had worked for Totem Travel for a number of years but was best known for his involvement in Victoria sports. In addition to his hockey ties, Buneer also served as a director of the Bates and Budget senior men's fastball team.

Details of his death are not known but it is believed he suffered a stroke in Southern Ontario during last week's heat wave.
