David Edward Graves

Born: 29 Dec 1919, Waldeck, Saskatchewan

 

Died: 05 Sep 1999, Victoria, British Columbia

 

GRAVES, David Edward - born in Waldeck, SK, on December 29, 1919, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 5, 1999, at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, BC. He is predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Johnson); sister, Mary and brother, Harry. He is survived by daughters, Dianna (Brian) Simcoe of Mara, BC, and Joanna (Paul) Koblun of Thompson, MB; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. David served with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War, Korea, and battle of the Atlantic, retiring as a CPO1. Upon retirement from the armed forces, he worked as a representative for Metropolitan and North American Life Assurance Companies. In later years, he worked for the Esquimalt Recreation Centre. David was a longtime member of the Pro Pat's Royal Canadian Legion. David will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family and many friends. David served in the RCN from 10 May 1937 to 09 May 1962
