CHADWICK, Edward Allan - was born October 15, 1929 in Vancouver and stood his last watch December 30, 2016. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Patricia, as well as his three daughters, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; Karen Lawrence (Mark), Christopher and Amanda; Ann Williams (Dave), Tristan, Evan and Toran; Jane Selkirk (Mike Inglis), Jarrod and Caitlin. He spent his school years in Squamish, Trail and Mission, B.C. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy at age 17 in 1947 and served until he retired as a CPO1 in 1976. During his naval career, he served in HMCS Ontario, Athabaskan (first Korean deployment in 1950), Sioux, Magnificent, Skeena, Ottawa, and Chaudiere. Upon retirement from the RCN he worked as a management consultant with DND completing 43 years of continuous service with that department. He was a member of Chief and Petty Officer's Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 172. Donations in his memory can be made to the Chief and Petty Officers Veterans Assistance Society or the Vancouver Island Kidney Patients Association. No service by request. Ed served in the RCN and C.A.F. from 18 Apr 1947 to 28 Jul 1976 . He wrote regular bulletins for the C & PO's Association. Just prior to his passing, Ed wrote one final column. This was Ed's final column for the Chiefs and Petty Officers Association newsletter
