Samuel Diamond Clarke

 

Chief Petty Officer, Weapons Surface, RCN

 

Died: 21 May 1995, Vernon, British Columbia

 

CLARKE, Samuel Diamond - age 69, at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on May 21, 1995. Sam was a retired Master Warrant Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a veteran, serving during the Second World War and the Korean War. He was Past Noble Grand of Vernon Valley Lodge #18, I.O.O.F., and was a member of Rebekah Lodge #6, I.O.O.F. Sam was a member of Branch 25 Royal Canadian Legion, F.S.N.A. Vernon, Court Winfield #203, I.O.F., Five Pin Bowling Association and Golden Age Bowling League of Lincoln Lanes, Member of the Chiefs and Petty Officers Association at Esquimalt, and was an active community member. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Theo Marie, of Vernon, daughters, Marie (Les) Cromar of Part Coquitlam and Dianne Clarke of Coquitlam, son, Martin Clarke of Sudbury, Ontario and three grandchildren, Lea and Jasmine Ricard of Port Coquitlam and Georgie Clarke of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Same is also survived by a brother, Robert (les) of Calgary, Alberta; sister, Violet Peach of Peachland, BC; aunt, Margaret Harrison of Vernon and  uncle, Archie (Pearl) Harrison of Calgary, Alberta and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity United Church, with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Sam to the "Lifeline" programme, 2101-32 St, Vernon, BC.

 

Sam served in the RCNVR and RCN from 20 Dec 1944 to 30 Jul 1970.
