In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
REES, Edward John - Age 79, Cobble Hill, B.C., passed away at home on January 18, 2016. Born in Ontario, he was predeceased by his parents; brother, Tommy and sister, Stephanie. He is survived by his wife, Maria; daughters, Sylvia (Craig Blacklock), Sandra (Tim Walsh), Shawna (Don O'Brien) and son, Nick (Stacey), along with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Bob (Helen) and Ken (Carol). After a long career in the Navy, he transitioned into a career in the Nova Scotia Fire Service as a volunteer firefighter and, later, as Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Firefighters Training School in Waverly for 19 years until his retirement. No service will be held, at his request. Donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
