NOYES, John Herbert (Bert) - of Middle Sackville. At the age of 85, passed away on April 3, 2019 in Camp Hill Veterans' Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Toronto, he was a son of the late George and Adeline (Stinson) Noyes. He was the youngest of 11 children. Bert was in the Navy for 33 years, retiring in 1985 as a Chief Petty Officer, second class. After the Navy, he worked for Saint John Shipbuilding and Saint John Naval Systems on the Frigate Program. All of his life he was active in sports including football, hockey, golf and softball and he spent many years as a snowbird in Largo, Fla. He was a life-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Calais Branch No. 162 where he enjoyed the company of many great friends. Survived by his daughter, Karen (Darrel) Nickerson; grandchildren, Briannah Nickerson, Justin Noyes; his partner of many years, Rosella Tremblay and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Yates); son, Kevin; brothers, Raymond, William, Arthur, George Jr., Ernest and Donald "Buster"; sisters, Ella "Mae", Adeline "Babe", Marion and Marjory. A special thank you to the staff of Camp Hill for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held in Atlantic Funeral Home (Sackville), 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, from 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 8th, and 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 9th, to be followed by a memorial service in the Calais Branch No. 162, Royal Canadian Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville, at 1 p.m. For those wishing, donations to The Poppy Fund-Royal Canadian Legion would be appreciated.
