LAMBERT, James Albert, Shipwright 1c, R926, RCN(R), died - 03 Jun 1947, HMCS WARRIOR - son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jean B. L. Lambert, of Tangier, NS; husband of Georgianna M. E. (nee Bisson) Lambert and father of Charles Henry of Saint John, NB.

 

James Lambert enlisted in the RCNVR (Service # V25678), as a Shipwright 5c, in Halifax on 17 Sep 1940.  On 04 Nov 1946 he transferred to the RCN(R) as a Shipwright 3c, advancing to Shipwright 1c on 05 Nov 1946. He died when the taxi he was in drove off the end of Jetty 3 in HMC Dockyard. The taxi driver managed to escape the vehicle but James Lambert and his shipmate Frank Allen, who was in the taxi with him, both drowned. He is buried in the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saint John, NB.
