KINNEY, Glen Everett, Sto 2c, 22790, RCN, died - 16 Mar 1947, HMCS WARRIOR - son of Mrs. Jean Kinney, of Winnipeg, MB.
Stoker Kinney was found to be missing after he failed to report for duty on the morning of March 17, 1947. He was last seen at approximately 23:30 hours the previous evening on his return to the ship after a short shore leave in Havana, Cuba. After conversing with ship mates, he proceeded to the hanger deck where he rigged his camp cot and turned in. Nothing further was seen of him from that time until his body was recovered from Havana Harbour on March 19, 1947; it is presumed that he fell overboard. He is buried in the Colon Cemetery, Haven, Cuba.
