For Posterity's Sake A Royal Canadian Navy Historical Project
In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
HINTZ, Donald Franklin - passed away suddenly on March 29, 2019, at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his loving wife Helen, who passed in October of 2003. Donald was born on November 4, 1932 at the Grace Hospital. Don served in the Canadian Navy, and worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway for a number of years prior to his retirement. Retirement kept him busy with his favourite activities such as gardening, reading, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. Don is survived by his son Mark Hintz (Colleen), his daughter Tracy Rifflard (Al), his sisters, Marion, Caroline and Edna, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. As per Donald's wish, a cremation has taken place at Mosaic Funeral Home. Donald will be buried at the Transcona Cemetery beside our mother, whom he missed so very much. No services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. We will miss you Dad. (Winnipeg Free Press 13 Apr 2019)
