Died: 23 Jul 1993, Charleston, Queens Co., Nova Scotia

 

CHAMBERS, William - 66, Charleston, Queens County, died July 23, 1993, at home. Born in Belfast, Ireland, he was a son of the late William J. and Sarah J. (MacMoran) Chambers. He served in the RCNVR and RCN for 23 years until retirement in 1971. Following his retirement from the navy, he was employed for several years with Steel and Engine Products, Liverpool as safety production superintendent. He had been a consultant for the Naval Dockyard on the frigate program. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Mersey Branch 38, Liverpool. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean M. Murray; daughter, Jeannie I. (Mrs. Paul Delaney), Windsor; three sons, William M., Halifax; George, Union Corner, Hants County; Thomas, Brooklyn, Queens County; two sisters, Eleanor (Mrs. Alex Purnell), St. Albert, Alta.; Lucy (Mrs. Larry Miller), Vancouver; nine grandchildren; an uncle; two aunts; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kathleen; brother, Rodney. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chandlers' Funeral Chapel, Liverpool, Rev. Alex Farquhar officiating. Burial will be at a later date following cremation in New Charleston Cemetery, Charleston. Family flowers only.
