Harold Clancy's mother passed away Thursday 20 Sep 1945 - Friday, September 21, 1945 Halifax Chronicle Mrs. John W. Clancy A host of friends in the city and in Prospect will be saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Clamcy, wife of John W. Clancy, which occurred sunddenly early last night in the Victoria General hospital. Mrs. Clancy had been ill for the past three weeks and died shortly after admittance to hospital yesterday. She was born in Halifax 52 years ago the daughter of the late Mary and Harry Inglis. Mrs. Clancy lived most of her life in the city but for a number of years was a resident of Prospect. She was a member of St. Joseph's parish. Surviving to mourn their loss are her husband, two sons, John E., in the British merchant navy; Leonard, at present overseas with the Canadian Army, two daughters, Betty, and Mrs. J. B. Kiley, at home. One son, Harold lost his life on H.M.C.S. Bras d'Or in 1940. The funeral will be held on Saturday morning from hr home 30 Maynard street, in time for nine o'clock requiem High Mass at Mount Carmel church, Prospect.
