GUTHRIE, Garfield (Garry) - age 80, passed away suddenly in his home on May 9, 2019 in Halifax. Burial and Service will be in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Garry was born in Carlton, Ont. to Mary and Ebert Guthrie on January 27, 1939. He married Giselle Dufour Age 80, passed away suddenly in his home on May 9, 2019 in Halifax. Burial and Service will be in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Garry was born in Carlton, Ont. to Mary and Ebert Guthrie on January 27, 1939. He married Giselle Dufour on July 1, 1967. He served many years in the Navy and Air Force. Garry loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid dart enthusiast and golf player. Garry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Guthrie and sister, Shelia Guthrie. Garry is survived by children, Gail and Bruce Hebblethwaite and Gwen and John McGrayne; brothers, Earl and William Guthrie; grandchildren, Christopher Guthrie and Jaclyn King, Samantha Guthrie, Garry Guthrie, Alexander Guthrie and Brittney Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Julia and Emma Guthrie. Garry will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends and a special thanks to the friendly staff at Peggy's Cove who always treated him like family. The family of Garry wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the many care organization that helped to make his life better.
