LOANE, Gerald Loane Sr. - passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his wife Beverly Alice Loane; sons Vincent (Elizabeth) Loane and Gerald (Sandra) Loane; daughter Vanessa (Kevin) Patterson; grandchildren Gerald, Kristen, Sullivan, Caiden, Kyle, Adam, Cheryl, Angela, Dakota and Beverly, as well as many great grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers Wayne (Cindy) Loane, Frank (Stephanie deceased) Loane and Allan Loane; sisters Grace Loane and Mara-Lee Loane. Gerry was born in Portage la Prairie, MB in 1942. He joined the Navy at the age of 18. He met his wife, Beverly Alice Harnish while he was harboured in Halifax, Nova Scotia, they married in 1963. After many moves, and the birth of his two sons, Gerry joined the Armed Forces. After serving both overseas and within Canada, including Gagetown NB, Greenwood NS, Shilo, MB, and with his final posting in Borden, ON, Gerry retired and settled in Brandon with his family. Gerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and brother. As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you. As you brushed against this world so gently, you lifted us.
