CONRAD, Gordon William - Able Seaman Gordon William Conrad, 47, died suddenly Saturday in hospital in Puerto Rico. He was a crew member of CNAV Blue Throat. Born in Conquerall Banks, he was the son of Mrs. Angus Conrad and the late Mr. Conrad. He spent most of his life at sea, serving in the Navy during the Second World War. he took part in the invasion of Sicily and Italy, and the final invasion of France. On two occasions, ships on which he was serving were torpedoed. Mr. Conrad is survived by his wife, the former Elnora Weir of Digby; three young daughters Judy, Marilyn and Susan; his mother; two brothers, Foster, Worcester, Mass.; Terry, Chicago; and a sister, Kathleen (Mrs. E. Oxner), Dartmouth. the body will be brought to Wamback's Memorial Chapel, Bridgewater. Interment will be in Maple Leaf cemetery, Conquerall Banks. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
