ENGRAM, Norman - 75, Halifax, passed away September 5, 1996, in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Hermitage, Nfld., he was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Francis) Engram. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Agnes (Caines) Engram; son, Thomas Engram and daughter-in-law, Cheryl; daughter, Marion Spencer and son-in-law Bill; granddaughters, Kimberly, Judith, Sara, Elizabeth and Rebecca who will miss their Papa/Papoo. He is also survived by sister, Lillian Cutler. He was predeceased by brothers, Archie and Clarence; sisters, Winnie Gorham, Jaunita LeHaurex and Queena Rose. He was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove, where he served as a sidesperson. He was a veteran of the Second World War, joining the navy in 1942 and retiring in 1972 as chief petty officer. He was a master carpenter and ran his own business until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Snow's Funeral Home, Windsor Street. Funeral service Saturday, 2 p.m. in St. Peter's Anglican Church, Birch Cove, Rev. Thomas Appleton officiating. Burial in St. John's Cemetery,. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia or the charity of your choice.
