McGOWAN, Andrew George - Age 86 of Lake Echo, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital. Born in Hamilton, Ont., he was a son of the late Andrew and Phyllis (Lambert) McGowan. Andrew was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Legion Centennial Branch 160. He loved playing pool, golf and bowling. Andrew is survived by his wife of 33 years, Susan; children, Deborah (Andre), Toni-Lynn (Keith), Derek (Kristin), Taura (Darin), Suzette (Joe), Anthony (Colleen); grandchildren, Melissa, Courtney, Andrew, Lindsay, Maclean, Kaylee, Avery, Jessica, Natasha, Chelsey, Kayla; brother, Gary (Pat) and sister, Phyllis (Murray). He was predeceased by son, Andrew and sister, Dolores. A private family interment will take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15th in Centennial Legion Branch 160, 703 Main St., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and The Lung Association Nova Scotia. (Halifax Chronicle Herald 12 Jun 2019)
