CHALMERS, Robert Burnett (Red) - Passed peacefully in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche with his wife and family by his side. A career sailor, he spent 32 years with the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Candace, who shares his love of the Navy. In his 88th year he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Loyola Doreen (Upham); his children, Michael (Cheryl), Berwick; Sandra (Robert), Lower Sackville; Colin (Patti), Kitchener, Ont. Dad will always be fondly remembered as "Dee" to his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Wilbur, and his mother, Anne; his sisters, Hazel and Barbara; and his brother, James. Dad and Mom enjoyed their retirement years as active members of the Malagash and Pioneer Village North, Fort Myers, Fla., communities and would often be found playing cards, pool or darts with friends. Resting in Coulters Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Friends may visit on Friday June 21st from 7-9 p.m. with funeral at 1 p.m. June 22nd, in Malagash United Church. Interment will be in Miner's Cemetery, Malagash. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Healing Garden or the Hospital Auxiliary for the book exchange.
