Born: 11 Jan 1934, Edmonton, Alberta

 

Died: 17 Apr 2011, Victoria, British Columbia

 

FARLEY, Maurice J. - Passed away in Victoria on April 17, 2011. He was born in Edmonton, A.B. on January 11, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joan nee Lilley; daughters, Theresa Pearson (Jim), and Darlene Sheffar (George Leslie); son, Michael, and grandsons, Jesse Pearson and John Sheffar. Lovingly remembered by his sister Ida; brothers, George, Paul, and Ernest, and their families; as well as his brother-in-laws James R. Lilley (Carol), Johnny Lilley (Winnie), and their families. Maurice was in the RCN and a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the Boilermakers Union of Victoria Local 191. He retired from Dock Yard Shop 11. Maurice enjoyed reading, gardening, and the outdoors. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him and knew him. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish, 4040 Nelthorpe Street, Victoria, BC, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 @ 1:00 pm, with a reception to follow in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. (Victoria Times Colonist 22 Apr 2011)
