WYNACHT, Phillip Lorraine - 94 years of Dartmouth, It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Phillip passed away peacefully on March 28, 2016 in the arms of his loving family at the Dartmouth General Hospital, after recent failing health. Born in Mader's Cove, NS, he was the son of the late Captain Arthur and Lena (Slauenwhite) Wynacht. Phillip was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Royal Navy as a Telegraphist on the HMCS Teme and the HMCS Loch Alvie, taking part in D-Day patrolling waters off the British coastline. Phillip was employed for 41 years at the Naval Armament Depot as a supervisor of the mechanical drafting office. Phillip was a longtime active member of Grace United Church in Dartmouth. He was a past chairman of the Board of Stewarts at the church. He also served as a cub leader for the Boy Scouts. Phillip was also a past president of the Dartmouth Toastmasters Club. Phillip loved tending to his vegetable garden, bowling, horse shoes, swimming and Queensland Beach and vacations in PEI. He is survived by his children Peter (Mariella) Wynacht of Calgary, Judie (Dr. Kenneth) Coady of Charlottetown, Nancy Burton of Dartmouth and David Wynacht of Dartmouth. Cherished grandchildren; Neil (Terri), Cherie, Ryan, granddaughter-in-law; Laura, Chantal (Jeffrey), Devin, Patrick, Suzanne (Adam), Sandra (Jeffrey) and Jeffrey. Great grandchildren Tyrell, Brookelynn, Charlotte, Jacob, Charis, Katie, Jonah and Finley. Phillip is also survived by sister in-laws; Olive Wynacht, Goldie Martin, brother in-law Allan Langille and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 65years Edith, infant twin sons, cherished grandson; Andrew Coady, brothers Dawson, Maurice, Sidney and sister; Marion. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held in Grace United Church Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2pm with reception to follow in the church hall. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Grace United Church. Burial will be at a later date in Park Cemetery, Mahone Bay. (Mattatal Funeral Home 29 Mar 2016)
