RICHARDSON Alfred Theodore - Funeral for Alfred T. (Jim) Richardson, 68, who died March 18 in Sarnia General Hospital, was held Friday in St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Sarnia. Born in West Dover, Halifax County, he was a son of June (Cleveland) Richardson, and the late Arnold Richardson. He served overseas in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War for five years and was a survivor of HMCS Athabaskan. At the time of his death, he was operator of the Sea Shell Restaurants, Point Edward, Ont. Besides his mother, he is survived by two sons, Patrick, Australia; Samuel, Sarnia; three stepsons, Donald, Bradley and Craig, all of Sarnia; a brother, Ross, West Dover; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. James Morash), West Dover; Hilda (Mrs. Edward Duffy), Spryfield; Lillian (Mrs. Albert Sullivan), McGivney, N.B.; an adopted daughter, Clara, Sarnia, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverley; two brothers, Otis and Sherman; a sister, Helen. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald, Wednesday, 25 Mar 1987)
Ships served in: HMCS ATHABASKAN - Survived the sinking of HMCS ATHABASKAN G07 and was rescued by HMCS HAIDA.
