PROWSE, Norman Russell - Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the age of 90. Beloved husband for 66 years of Modena (Dena) Prowse. Dearly loved father of Dorothy Prowse and Joan Prowse (Chris Birkett), and also missed by Shadow. Norman was a Veteran of WW II where he served with the RCN and was a 47 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 60, Burlington. He carried on his love of water as a long-time member of the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club, an avid sailor aboard his sailboat Blue Skies and swimming along the Hamilton Beach Strip and in his backyard pool. He was also a lifelong lover of animals. Funeral Service at Smith's Funeral Home, Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), Burlington, on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Cremation followed by interment in his family plot will take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Norman to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch, 60 would be sincerely appreciated by the family. (Hamilton Spectator 26 Jan 2017)
