Died: 07 Jul 2014, Orillia, Ontario

 

ROBINSON, Geoffrey George - QC WWII Veteran, Norwegian Merchant Marine, subsequently Lt (SB) RCN(R.) (RET.) Died peacefully on July 7, 2014 at Trillium Manor, Orillia, Ontario. Geoff was born in Toronto in 1926. Following the war, he attended University of Toronto for one year, then attended Osgoode Hall Law School from which he graduated in 1950, following which he was called to the Bar. He was a cofounder of The Toronto Law Firm Mitchell, Robinson and practised in Toronto until his retirement in 1995. Survived by his wife Gwen, his one and only true love. Also by his daughters Beverley Grant (Ian), Marta Doucet (Marc), son Peter (Cathy), his seven grandchildren; Jeff, Stephanie, Matthew, Kevin, Kelly, Jena, Jaime, and great- grandchildren Keace and Ryden. Survived by his sister Marion Fricke (Larry). Predeceased by brothers Bev (Doris) and Bob (Alice). Cremation was immediate, following which his ashes will be delivered to The Royal Canadian Navy for burial in the Atlantic Ocean. Special thanks to Dr. W. Tillmann and the staff at Trillium Manor, Orillia for their wonderful care. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 58 Peter Street North, Orillia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society (Orillia Branch) or St. James Anglican Church, Orillia. (New Hamburg Independent 16 Jul 2014)
