GATES, George Philip (Phil) - of Calgary passed away peacefully on December 8, 2010 at the age of 85 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Leslie (Jim), his son Jim (Vicki), and his grandchildren, Jamie, Mark, Emily and Adrian. He was predeceased by his wife Fran in 2002. After serving in WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy he spent the next 42 working with the CPR. Phil was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Windermere. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church (5504-20 Street SW) on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 11:00am. Thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the Rockyview General Hospital and the Peter Lougheed Centre for their wonderful care and attention.
