Ian Kerr was a pipe mechanic prior to enlisting in the RCNVR.

HMCS MORDEN - Served in MORDEN 06 Sep 1941 - 16 Aug 1942 as an OS and AB, RCNVR. Rated AB 23 Sep 1941

HMCS STAR - Loaned to STAR 28 Aug 1942 - 26 Oct 1942 while serving at CORNWALLIS.

HMCS LACHINE - Drafted to LACHINE 31 Dec 1942 as an AB, RCNVR. Rated A/LS 01 Mar 1943
