George Douglas Cameron

Died: 03 Aug 2019, Moncton, New Brunswick

 

CAMERON, George Douglas - 82, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday August 3, 2019 at his residence. Born in Sunny Brae, Pictou County, NS, he was the son of the late Simon and Lilian (Hefler) Cameron. George joined the Navy as a young man, served on the Bonaventure, 870 Squadron, and also crash crew at Shearwater as a firefighter. He served 10 years in the Navy, left to go to Forest Ranger School in Fredericton, graduated and went to work at Natural Resources in Truro, NS, moved on to work at Natural Resources in New Glasgow, NS, and retired as supervisor. He will be greatly missed by all of us. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Webb); one daughter, Lisa Pink (David) of Moncton; one son, John (Noelle) of Ottawa, ON; four grandsons: Dan, Ian, Cameron, and Simon; one granddaughter, Thia; two sisters: Barbara Pollard (Melvin) of Halifax, NS, and Irene MacGregor (Jim) of St. Pauls, NS; four brothers: Victor of Manitoba, Brenton (Beverly) of Westville, NS, Howard of New Glasgow, NS, and Robert "Bobby" of Stellarton, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. Many thanks for the support and love from family, friends and spouses. By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In memory of George, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
