HINCH, Harold Leonard Joseph - It is with great sadness the family of Harold Leonard Joseph Hinch, 80, of Halifax, announce his passing on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax December 23, 1938, he was a son of the late Harold and Teresa (Sampson) Hinch. As a lifelong resident of Halifax, in his younger years he was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy. He then went on to work for the Province of Nova Scotia as a Stationary Engineer. Harold was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion since 1974 and enjoyed many Legion activities, darts being his favorite. He is survived by his companion, Teresa Loughran; son, Ronald Harold Hinch Dominix (Sheena); brother, Edward (Lorraine); grandchildren, Kelly and Emma; nephews, Edward (Lynda), Gerard (Cathy), Larry Gillis, Jackie Gillis; nieces, Tami and Cindy, Denise Gillis; along with many great nieces and nephews. Harold's friendly "Hello" was well-known in the downtown core and will be missed by many. His daily "Thumbs Up" and encouraging words will be missed by his family. His sense of humor was larger than life and will continue to love on through his family and friends. Interment to be held at a later date.
