In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
NICHOLSON, Peter John - 53, of Chester, died Saturday at home. Born in Honey Harbour, Ont., he was a son of the late Edward and Lucy Nicholson. He was a retired member of the Royal Canadian Navy. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Butler Branch No. 44. Surviving are his stepmother Marie; his wife, the former Marie Francis Sweet; three sons, Bruce, Halifax; Peter, Ryal, both at home; two sisters, Frances (Mrs. Edward Scott), Mary (Mrs. Garfield Cadeau), both of Honey Harbour; a brother, Capt. Edwin, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; a stepbrother, Ian, Honey Harbour. He was predeceased by a brother Don. The body is at Davis Funeral Home, Chester. Funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Rev. Lloyd O'Neil officating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart Fund. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald Monday, 01 May 1978)
