In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
JOHNSON, Roger Scott - It is with great sorrow that we announce that Roger Scott Johnson, aged 49 of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre. Remaining to forever cherish Roger's memory are his mother, Christine Johnson (nee Roy), his brother/uncle Gerald Roy, as well as countless aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his father, Alvin Johnson, brother Patrick Johnson, his maternal grandparents, Rene and Aline Roy, as well as his paternal grandparents, Byron and Elsie Johnson. Roger often looked back on his accomplishments in life; he graduated from St. Paul's Academy, and later joined the Royal Canadian Navy where he spent five happy years. At the time of his passing Roger had worked at Investors Group in the compliance department. Growing up he was always eager to learn more about everything and carried that on into his adult life with his passion of science and philosophy and had an artistic talent. Roger was able to channel his amazing creative abilities in his art. This was no more evident than when he joined Art Beats Studio where he felt he had finally found "his people" and was for a while at peace. Roger may be gone but he will never be forgotten for his kindness, and his good humour was legend in his "Hood" of West Broadway and Osborne Village. Roger will be interred in a private ceremony along with his father, brother and our darling Kiki. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Art Beats Studio Inc.
