In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
WALTER, John Ross Terry - passed peacefully on February 4th 2012 in his 78th year, leaving behind his wife Vickie and daughter Laura, and children from his first wife, Elaine, Jim, Dawn, Rhonda, Doug and Bruce; and his first wife Janet. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Born in 1933, Terry served his country honourably from 1955-1989. Enlisting as a rating in 1955 as an Electrician's Mate, he later became a Radio Technician before taking his commission as a Maritime Surface/Sub-Service officer, obtaining the rank of Lt (N). Married in 1953, he was posted back and forth across Canada several times which took its toll on family life. He remarried in 1970, and following his last sea posting Terry took up hobby farming north of Napanee, ON. He never forgot his time at sea nor his shipmates; keeping in contact with a few of his shipmates until dementia took hold. Following cremation, a Masonic service was held at the Jardine Funeral Home in Fenelon Falls, ON followed by a regular service; and a celebration of life was held immediately following at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fenelon Falls. He will be missed. Ready Aye Ready
