For Posterity's Sake A Royal Canadian Navy Historical Project
In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MADIGAN, John Marlowe - Peacefully passed away on September 11, 2019 at Tudor House in Selkirk, MB at 95 years of age. Dad was predeceased by his wife Anne in 2005. He is survived by his children, Fred and Susan (Ken), and their families. Dad was born in West Kildonan on April 17, 1924 and grew up on Jefferson Avenue. He joined the Navy in 1942 serving as a Stoker 1st Class on the La Hulloise during the Second World War, serving in the North Atlantic. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Selkirk Branch #42 serving for a number of years as the President. Always looking for a business opportunity he started Madigan's Repair out of his garage at home in the late 1970s. He then moved to a Main Street location in Selkirk in 1987 until health concerns forced him to retire and close up shop in 2014. Dad was a kind hearted man, forever helping those in need. At this time we would like to thank the kind and caring staff at Tudor House Personal Care Home in Selkirk. As per Dad's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
