BROTZEL, Eugene Clemence (Gene) - Passed away peacefully at Oxford Gardens on Friday, March 15th, 2019 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Armande Marie (nee Lapointe)(2016). Loving father of Rick (Dahlene) Brotzel, Judy (Tim) Wright, and Sherri (Mike) Heighton. Cherished grandfather of Phillip (Andrea), Scott (Samantha) and Joe; Brad (Jess), Darryl (Dani), Mark (Elle) and Kailee (Kevin); Derek (Amy), Dylan, Brittany and great-grandfather of 13. Gene was employed with Ralston Purina for over 30 years, umpired for over 30 years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #55, Woodstock, as well as a member of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association. Uncle Gene was adored and loved by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Rose Brotzel, his sister, Mary Brotzel and his brother Jack Brotzel. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Gene’s life at the Woodstock Navy Club, 959 James St, Woodstock, on Sunday, March 24th, 2019 from 1 to 5 pm. If desired, memorial donations to VON Sakura House or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. A special thank you to all the staff at Oxford Gardens and the CCAC for their sincere care and dedication throughout these last few months.
Gene served in the RCN from 1955 to 1960.
