JACKSON, John Ralph (Randy) - Age 81 of Eastern Passage, passed away on October 21, 2019 in Ocean View Manor in Eastern Passage. Born May 8, 1938, Ralph was a son of Mary and Tommy Jackson, Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Harvey and Keir; wife, Patricia; and grandson, Jason Dillon. Ralph is survived by his loving partner of 12 years, Victoria Tremblay; daughter, Donna Dillon (David); sons, Peter and Randy (Krista); granddaughter, Alyssa; great-grandson, Jeremy Algee; brother, Lenny (Kathy); numerous nieces and nephews and members of his extended family with Vickie, Michelle (Scott) Jordan, JP (Andrea) Tremblay and children. Ralph served as an aircraft mechanic in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1955 to 1976, then with the Reserves until 1981. He then served with the Canadian Coast Guard at Shearwater until his retirement. Ralph's adventures took him to sea with the navy aboard numerous ships including HMCS Bonaventure and in the air servicing the famed Tracker aircraft and Sea King helicopters and the well-known Coast Guard helicopter fleet. Ralph loved his Goldwing motorcycles and often talked about his cross Canada tour with his wife, Pat. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Dykeland Lodge and Ocean View Manor for their care and compassion for Ralph throughout his battle with Alzheimer's. Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 27th followed by a reception, both in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. (Halifax Chronicle-Herald 24 Oct 2019)
