ELLIOTT, Robert William (Bob) - age 82, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, passed away on 7 October 2019 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of William Arthur Elliott and Anne May Elliott nee McDermott. Bob served briefly in the Royal Canadian Navy and maintained his early military friendships and his interest in the military throughout his life. Bob was a sales representative for over 40 years and started in the industrial equipment sales and later transitioned into the cosmetics industry and sales. He was a former Cub Scout leader for several years and this fit well with his love of outdoor camping, which he enjoyed throughout his life. Bob was an enthusiastic ambassador for the Atlantic Provinces and especially his home province of Nova Scotia, and always took the opportunity to inform others not familiar with the east coast of Canada, of the many sightseeing locations as well as the generous and friendly people of the region. He had an appreciation for music and loved to dance, and always enjoyed social dancing anytime the opportunity presented itself. He loved his dogs, and his shelties held a special place in his heart. He was an avid military history buff and reader, in particular WWII history, and collected items of military interest throughout his life. He was an aviation enthusiast and attended airshows whenever one was held, and always took the time to engage the many aviators he met about their aircraft and duties. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Esther Louise Elliott, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and his three sons, Scott James Elliott (Dartmouth), Troy Bradley Elliott (Dartmouth), and Brent William Elliott and his wife/ daughter-in-law Darlene nee Pike (Ottawa). Robert is also survived by his grandchildren, Jesse Alexander Elliott, Dylan James Elliott, Sarah Louise Julie Elliott and Kalina Rose Elliott. He is survived by his brother, Bradley Arthur Elliott, his three sisters, Colleen Marie Burke (Don), and Diane Elaine Teron and Helen Pineau nee Dee (Terry) as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Robert is predeceased by both his parents and younger brother Allan Michael Elliott, and sister Sandra Jean Elliott. Deacon Bernie Coffin will officiate a small service to be held at the burial site on, Friday 11 October, 2019, at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 767 Main Street, Dartmouth, N.S., B2W 3T9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
