WILSON, John H., FO - son of Prof. and Mrs. R.S.L. Wilson, 11044 81 ave., who has been presumed dead, according to word received by his father, dean of applied science at the University of Alberta. He was reported missing last August. The airman enlisted in the navy in 1940 and transferred to the air force in 1941. He went overseas in 1943, and served in East Africa and Arabia. He was lost off Palestine. Born in Edmonton, he attended Garneau and Strathcona high schools and was at the university when he enlisted.
John's aircraft, on a training run, crashed in the Mediterranean Sea. His name is on the El Alamein Memorial in North Africa. Ships served in: HMCS KAMLOOPS - Served in Kamloops 12 Apr 1941 - 07 May 1941 as a Stoker 2c, RCN
