Hugh Lorne Anderson

Died: 01 Feb 1988, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

 

ANDERSON, Hugh Lorne - was born in Calgary, AB on June 5, 1928. He was born into a family of 10, and lived through the Great Depression before leaving home at age 17 to join the RCN. His parents were George Alfred Anderson of Bethnal Green, London UK, and Edna Pearl Livingstone of Tecumseh, ON. After serving with the Navy, Hugh joined the Army with 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, training at CFB Wainwright in Alberta. A cousin has advised Hugh's family that he served in Korea, but never spoke of it to his family. Hugh passed away after a brief illness in Edmonton, AB on February 1, 1988. He is survived by his wife Margaret (née Mitenko) and sons Michael and Matthew. Hugh worked a variety of interesting jobs throughout his life and remained very active and a great lover of the outdoors until his passing.
