COYLE, Terrence Regis - of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 79. He was the son of the late Francis L. and Katherine W. (Murphy) Coyle of Charlottetown. He spent his younger years at the farm of his grandfather, the late Phillip Murphy of Sturgeon, Prince Edward Island. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy as a young man and served in the Korean War from 1949 to 1953. On his return to Canada, he settled first in Toronto, then moving to Moncton in 1958 where he worked for the Canadian National Railways before starting his first business, Maritime Hydraulic Repair Centre in 1966. His current company, TRC Hydraulics of Dieppe, was started in 1986, and continues to operate under the management of his son Terrence Jr. Terrence was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No.6, a member the Knights of Columbus MSGR. Roy M. McDonald Assembly, a Regent of the University of Moncton and a supporter and sponsor of many local sports groups and charities. He was awarded the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce award for Excellence in Business in 1995, was recognized as one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEOs in 2000 and awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2002. He will be remembered by his many friends for his generosity and kindness, his love of travelling and baseball, and his enthusiasm for collecting antique cars. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline (Steele) Coyle; his three daughters: Sandra Macdonald (Jack Gray) of Ottawa, Barbara Breau (John) of Moncton, Ruth LeBlanc (Louis) of Dieppe; a son, Terry (Lynne) also of Dieppe; his brother St. Clair Coyle of deGros Marsh; two sisters: Vera Rice of Cardigan and Helen Docherty of Montague, all on Prince Edward Island; his grandchildren: Nathaniel and Harry Hodge, Matthew, Annelise and Kees Dekker, Cody and Christine LeBlanc; his great-grandchildren: Hannah Dekker and Erik Richard, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his bother, Cyril Coyle; two sisters: Noreen Connolly and Berneice MacKenzie. The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, Moncton, on Thursday, November 19 at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. Visiting hours Tuesday, from 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday morning from 8:30 am until departure (9:20). The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance, Wednesday at 3:50 pm from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in memory of Terrence to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
