Predeceased by: Daughter, Darlene; Son, Shawn; Brothers, Christopher and Peter; Former first spouse, Cindy. Joe served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years then had a second career with the Halifax Shipyards (18 years) and was a proud member of and shop steward of his union, IUMSWC, Local 1 until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed his newspaper and crossword puzzles, food, a friendly card game, meeting friends at McDonald’s for breakfast, bowling, reading and just chatting with the people he met in life, (Church, Costco, his neighbourhood). Joe’s humour was known and liked by many and he will be missed by both family and friends. Thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of 8.4. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation or service. Ashes will be disbursed at a later date at sea. Arrangements entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral Home
