DOUGLAS, Jack Duncan - age 89, of Stratford passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Born in Stratford, son of the late Fred and Mary Douglas. Jack was a Navy veteran in WW II stationed in Halifax. He worked at Kroehler's and Flexsteel for many years until his retirement. He always enjoyed many summers at the trailer in Goderich. Survived by loving son Kerry Douglas of Stratford and a daughter-in-law Sheila Douglas of Woodstock. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer and Nicole. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by son Michael (Mickey) Douglas in 2009 and infant son Johnny Douglas. Jack was the last surviving member of his family having been predeceased by six siblings. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford, on Sunday, December 16 from 1-4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 17 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Rev. Fr. Dick Bester will officiate. A Legion service will be held on Sunday at 12:45 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Hemophilia Society.
