BROWN, Raymond Bruce -passed away peacefully, on Tuesday December 10, 2019, at the age of 94 years at his home at Legacy Senior Living in Vancouver. He was born and raised in Winnipeg, the youngest of five children of the late Frederick and Sarah Ellen Brown. His brothers, Frederick and Charles and sisters, Cecilia and Marjorie predeceased him. A kind, courteous, self-reliant and contented man, Raymond remained a bachelor. He served in the Navy in 1944 - 1945 on HMCS Discovery, Cornwallis, Halifax and Wallaceburg, doing his duty on the North Atlantic convoys, until the end of the Second World War. Subsequently living in Vancouver, he became an expert technician and avid golfer. His great joy was building, and flying, a Pitts Special aerobatic plane. Ray Brown will be missed by all who knew him. (Winnipeg Free Press 22 Feb 2020)
