In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
MACAULEY, Ernest Hugh - aged 58 of Victoria, BC. Passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba but had resided in Victoria for 36 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Helen, son Ken of Vancouver, BC; daughter Marilyn, grandchildren Jennifer and Joshua of Surrey, BC; brother George and wife Helen of Calgary, Alberta; sister Lillian and husband Jim of Winnipeg; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his son John in 1976. He served 25 years with the RCN, 10 years with the Canadian Coast Guard, and served three years with the Corps of Commissionaires until he went into the hospital February 21. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #172 of Esquimalt and also belonged to the Chief and PO's Association. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. Funeral services at McCaill Bros. Chapel on Wednesday, May 23 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Isles officiating. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined. Those who so desire may make a donation in honour of his memory to the Hospice, 1900 Fort Street, Victoria, BC or Cancer Society Fund.
