Ralph D. Bartlett

Died: 06 Dec 2009, Saint John, New Brunswick

 

BARTLETT, Ralph Douglas - of Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, formerly of Nauwigewauk, NB went home to be with his Lord and Saviour. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Frank and Jennie (nee Godsoe) Bartlett and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters: Viola McLeod, Robert Bartlett, Maurice Bartlett, Jean McAdam and Lawrence Bartlett. Ralph is survived by his loving and faithful wife for 59 years, Audrey Geraldine (nee MacLean) Bartlett of Nauwigewauk; four children Sharon Savoie of Quispamsis, Marilyn Bonney (Bill) of Nauwigewauk, Mark Bartlett (Mary) of Hampton and Blair Bartlett (Beth) of Saint John; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren with another great-grandson expected next month as well as several nieces and nephews. In 1941 he answered his country's call to duty and joined the R.C.N.V.R and achieved the rank of Petty Officer and Asdic Operator. After the war he took up the plumbing trade and was an employee of the Department of National Defense for 15 years and Security Plumbing for 15 years, retiring in June of 1984. He loved the outdoors having built a hunting and fishing cabin along with his father and two brothers, Bob and Maurice at Cappal Lake in 1957. A faithful member of Calvary Temple, Sydney St., Saint John for over 40 years.
