DOOLITTLE, Francis Charles (Frank) - Age 86, of Brickton, Annapolis Co., N.S. Today it is with broken hearts but with relief that he will not be fighting for every breath that we the family announce that Frank passed away at home on May 14, 2020. He did so under his own terms in his own way. Frank was born in 1933 in Toronto, Ontario, to the late George and Ethel (Gregson) Doolittle. At 19 years of age, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, and served his country for 29 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. He travelled to many countries, sailed on many ships, but his greatest memory was being presented to Queen Elizabeth II, while in Sweden, The Sea and the Navy were the lifeblood of this man. He was a member of the Atlantic Chiefs & Petty Officers Association, & a 40 year member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 33. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Birt); his daughter, Kim; his daughter-in-law, Connie; his step-son, Rod (Karen); grandchildren, Anthony (Heather) & Mellissa (Steven), Jason & Sabrina; one great-granddaughter, Serena; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Gloria (MacPhearson); his beloved son, Tony; step-son, Stevie; brother, George (Bud); sister, Peggy. Cremation has taken place, and at his request there will be no service or visitation. Interment will be held in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Dartmouth at a later date. A very special thank you must go to Connie for the support and love you have given Frank and myself over these last 5 months.
