Elmer Auld served in the RCNVR during WW2 as a Submarine Detector (ASDIC operator). His first ship was HMCS BURLINGTON for 1 year on the Triangle Run. He was later drafted to Fairmile Q094 and then afterwards HMCS GIFFARD on the Newfy-Derry run (St. John's, Newfoundland to Londonderry, Northern Ireland) for another year.
