GATZKE, Kenneth Leroy - left us peacefully at Vanderwell Lodge, Slave Lake, AB to join his beloved wife Gloria who passed away in 2009.He is survived by his loving daughter Cynthia, sister Clara Marks (Michael) and brothers Larry, Aaron (Nancy )and Terry (Heather), sister -in-law Lola and special friends Hazel and Otto Peter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Aileen, parents Edna and August, brother David and sister-in-law Bertha.Ken was born inn Meadow Lake, Sk and grew up in Cold Lake and Lac La Biche, AB. After four years in the Royal Canadian Navy, he moved to Slave Lake where he met and married Gloria and both daughters were born. Both Ken and Gloria were very active members of the Royal Canadian Legion and the community. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vanderwell Lodge, 301 6 Ave NE. Slave Lake, AB, T0G 2A2 or the Royal Canadian Legion, 400 Main St. NW, Slave Lake, AB T0G 2A0.In keeping with Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 6.
