In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
RYAN, James McLaren - Dad has chosen to join Mom on March 30, 2004. After many years of pounding the pavement in the Armed Forces Band, in Victoria, he was fortunate to move to Terrace as a music teacher. He loved everything about this town, and we could go on forever about that. His pride and joy was all his years teaching music. He called all of the band students 'his kids'. He took pride in expecting more out of you than you thought you could do. After reading the numerous and wonderful letters submitted from friends, it is over whelming and humbling to see that his family was far more than those that lived with him. He was predeceased by our Mom, Shirley, on March 10, 1992; sisters: Corrine, Eileen, Margaret, Nora, Hazel, and a granddaughter Hannah. Those of us left behind to remember him are 2 sisters, Frances (Buzzy) and Betty, and 1 brother Edward (Cubby). His children: Nora, Ann, Holly, Jim and Terri, along with their spouses; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The rest of his family is this community. We would like to thank everybody in the Terrace Community Band, Terrace Symphony Orchestra, Terrace Pipes & Drums and all those who contributed to the Tribute and Celebration of Dad's life. You truly are wonderful people. We would also like to thank the nurses in the Mills Memorial Dialysis Unit: Sherry, Margaret and Shelly, for the heartfelt care they gave to dad; to Dr. Hoy, Dr. DeWitt, and the nurses at Mills Memorial Hospital; to Dr. Lowrie, Anne Marie Henderson and the nurses at the Prince George Dialysis Unit; to MacKay's Funeral Home, you made a sad time easier for us. Dad had wonderful friends and neighbors who helped him and kept him company. We thank them all for being there.
