SCOTT, John Wilson - 67, Summer Street, Halifax, died Thursday in Victoria General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Story) Scott. He attended the Halifax Academy and graduated from Royal Military College, Queen's University and Dalhousie Law School. He served in the RCNVR during the Second World War, surviving the sinking of HMCS ATHABASKAN. On leaving Dalhousie, he joined the RCN, serving in the office of the Judge Advocate General until his retirement in 1971. He then served as legal counsel for the Canadian Construction Association until 1976. He was an avid sailor and life member of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. He is survived by his wife, the former Caroline Coghill; a son, William, Canberra, Australia; a daughter, Heather Colbert, Arnprior, Ont.; a sister, Betty; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean and Ailsa. Following cremation, there will be a burial at sea. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Snow's Funeral Chapel, Halifax.
