RCN Submarine Commander - By The Canadian Press - Appointment of LT. Cmdr. George Coulson McMorris, 36. of Edmonton and Victoria as commander of the Royal Canadian Navy's submarine Grilse was announced Thursday by naval headquarters. He succeeds Lt.-Cmdr, Edmund G. Gieg of North Bay. Ont.. and Victoria who has commanded the Grilse since she was commissioned Into the RCN (Source: The Ottawa Journal 07 Dec 1962)

TO COMMAND SUB. - Lt. Cmdr. George Coulson McMorris, 36, of Edmonton and Victoria has been named to command the submarine Grilse. Lt. Cmdr. McMorris joined the Navy as a midshipman in July, 1945.
