DEVOST, Daniel - 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, 5th December 2020 at his home, in palliative care, from Metastatic Sarcoma Cancer. He was born on December 28th, 1954 in Shawinigan, Québec to Henri-Paul and Jacqueline Carbonneau Devost.
Daniel grew up in Shawinigan, Québec. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 37 years. During his 37 years of service, he served in all 3 elements and endured many deployments. He also received 9 decorations and 7 medals from his military service.
Daniel Devost married Marilyn Gonnin in 1982 in Longueuil, Québec. They were happily married for 38 years. Daniel was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He enjoyed watching hockey, cooking, and going on vacation down south with his lovely wife Marilyn.
He was an energetic and joyful man. He was a role model for his 2 sons to whom gave him 4 wonderful granddaughters. By the end of his fight with cancer, Daniel had got his two wishes, first was to pass away peacefully in his house, and second to destroy cancer that had plagued him for 2 years.
Daniel is survived by his spouse Marilyn, his sons Steve (Lindsay) and Frédéric (Jacqueline) Devost; his sisters Nicole Godbout and Joanne Devost; His Grandchildren Addilyn, Brooklyn, Sarina, Jora Devost; His nephews Mathieu, Michael Godbout, and niece Amélie Beaudet.
There will not be a service.

DEVOST, Daniel - 65 ans, est décédé paisiblement le samedi 5 décembre 2020 à son domicile en soin palliatif du cancer du sarcome métastatique. Il est né le 28 décembre 1954 à Shawinigan, Québec, de Henri-Paul et Jacqueline Carbonneau Devost.
Daniel a grandi à Shawinigan, au Québec. Il a servi dans les Forces armées canadiennes pendant 37 ans. Au cours de ses 37 années de service, il a servi dans les 3 éléments et a subi de nombreux déploiements. Il a également reçu 9 décorations et 7 médailles de son service militaire.
Daniel Devost a épousé Marilyn Gonnin en 1982 à Longueuil, Québec. Ils étaient mariés pendant 38 merveilleuse années. Daniel était membre de la Légion royale canadienne. Il aimait regarder le hockey, cuisiner, et aller dans le sud en vacance avec son epouse bien aimée.
C'était un homme énergique et joyeux. Il a été un modèle pour ses 2 fils à qui lui ont donné 4 merveilleuses petites-filles. À la fin de son combat contre le cancer, Daniel avait atteint ses deux souhaits, le premier était de mourir paisiblement dans sa maison, et le second de détruire le cancer qui le tourmentait depuis 2 ans.
Daniel laisse dans le deuil son épouse Marilyn, ses fils Steve (Lindsay) et Frédéric (Jacqueline) Devost; ses sœurs Nicole Godbout et Joanne Devost; Ses petits-enfants Addilyn, Brooklyn, Sarina, Jora Devost; Ses neveux Mathieu, Michael Godbout et sa nièce Amélie Beaudet.
Il n'y aura pas de service.
