They made the Ultimate Sacrifice
SILK, James Ernest, LS, V19493, RCNVR, died - 25 Oct 1944, HMCS SKEENA - Son of Henry Herbert and Rose Silk; husband of Inez Edna Silk, of Windsor, ON.
LS Silk was lost over side and drowned when HMCS SKEENA was forced onto the rocks near Iceland during a North Atlantic gale. His body was recovered and he was buried in the Fossvogur Cemetery, Reykjavik, Iceland.
